Hi, I am Dr Anne Chew and I will be your anaesthetist for your upcoming surgery. I will meet you on the day of surgery to customise your anaesthesia plans, address any concerns you may have and discuss your post operative pain management strategies. I am fluent in Mandarin, Cantonese and Bahasa should you prefer to communicate in one of these languages.
I attended medical school at the University of Otago, New Zealand and received my qualification (MBChB) in 2004. I subsequently completed my anaesthesia training with Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists (ANZCA) in various accredited training hospitals in Victoria, Australia. I have been awarded the Fellowship by ANZCA since 2013.
I have public hospital appointments at Western Health, Royal Dental Hospital Melbourne as well The Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital. I am accredited in most of the private hospitals throughout Melbourne. My regular work include anaesthesia for paediatric dentistry, gynaecology, general surgeries, endoscopies, vascular, urology, ophthalmology, respiratory medicine, orthopaedic etc.
I am up to date with all required continuing professional development (CPD) as mandated by Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA). I am also an accredited instructor for Early Management of Severe Trauma (EMST) course with the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (RACS).
In my spare time I enjoy reading, travelling and spending time with my family.
