David trained at St Vincent’s Hospital, Melbourne in anaesthesia and followed with specialty training in intensive care. He spent 2 years at the Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston furthering both specialities before returning to Melbourne.

His current appointments are as an intensive care specialist at St Vincent’s Public Hospital and at St Vincent’s Private Hospital. He is also Director of Intensive Care at St Vincent’s Private Hospital. In anaesthesia, his practice is at The Avenue Hospital specialising in orthopaedic anaesthesia.
